Of course, in January we will look at our New Year’s Resolutions. What are your resolutions for the new year? Go live a healthier life, again? Go vegan? No more alcohol for a month? (I mean, who are you kidding?)
Which resolution you might have, 2019 is the ultimate year to go for it. It is the last year before we will leave the 10s and start with the 2020s. So be kind to 2019, be good to 2019, as well as to yourself.
Well, I would like to meet the person who does NOT want to live a healthier life in the new year. We all know, the first two weeks are easy, but to keep up with this resolution is not easy. Let’s give a few tips on how to get healthier!
Healthier living, does not mean starvation. You are still allowed to eat, yes as well as that cookie and donut. But try to keep it reasonable. Limit yourself to one cookie per day, instead of one bag per day.
Ok, I got to be honest, this sounds like NOPE to me. But it can be pretty good, actually. Don’t start worrying about sweaty gyms or the locker rooms… You can do this in your own time and even at your own place! Get yourself an Apple Watch or other smart watch and you are ready to go! Try to exercise at least 30 minutes per day. Whether this is a nice walk to the grocery store or a bike ride to work, take 30 minutes as your minimum. If you have an Apple Watch, record your exercise and check back how your heart rate and route has been. Close all three rings and you’ll receive a digital award! Get exercising and get rewarded!
Are you a true coffee addict? Or can’t live without that energy drink? Or perhaps a smoker? 2019 is the ideal year to cut back on those habits. We’re not yelling YOU HAVE TO STOP!, but you should at least consider it. Start with cut back on these habits and next year, we’ll have our talk again 😉
So, instead of 3 cups of coffee and a pack of cigarettes a day, cut back to 1 cup of coffee in the morning and half a pack of cigarettes. You’ll help yourself, your body and the people around you to live a healthier and happier life.
